What happens when the theaters are all empty? When the ghost light is off? When the audience cannot be in the seats? Where does the spirit of the dance, theater, and performance go when it cannot exist with the audience? Online…?
Through the guidance of your digital narrator, the mask, you will be taken through stages of this interactive experience to conjure a dormant spirit.

Who and how do we perform ourselves through these digital interfaces?
How do we acknowledge the failures of technology to supplement the ancient forms of communal gathering and the ephemerality of theatrical experience?
This performance requires a secure internet connection and is optimized for access via a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam. Headphones are encouraged. Please seat yourself in front your webcam as if you were participating in a video conference. Be sure that light is illuminating your face from the front, and that you are not back-lit. Accessing the remote possibilities performance/website through the most updated version of web browser Google Chrome is recommended. Please close out extraneous tabs and windows for optimal performance experience.
slowdanger is a project based multi-disciplinary performance entity based out of Pittsburgh PA creating works at the intersection of movement, sound, and technology. slowdanger aims to bring audiences closer to their own bodies through performance, immersive experiences and open-level workshops, cultivating kinesthetic empathy through creating community in transformational embodied experiences. Co-founding artistic directors, anna thompson and taylor knight use movement, found material, integrative technology, electronic instrumentation, vocalization, physiological centering, and ontological examination to produce their performance work since 2013.
